American Express NOT Available At Rome Casino

Last month, Rome Casino announced that they would be accepting American Express cards from U.S. players, a move that would help to get more U.S. players to sign up at Rome. Great move right?

Not So Fast...
Well, there was one little problem. American Express isn't accepted at any other gaming operator and Rome Casino basically announced that they were the only online casino that would take payments from the credit card giants. Word quickly spread, American Express got a hold of it and they were not happy.

Not Accepted At Any Gaming Operator
Christine Elliott, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications for American Express made it clear that American Express cards cannot be used for any type of gambling. Elliot also said that legal notification was sent to Rome, telling them that they are not allowed to accept American Express payments and that they have to remove the American Express logo from their casino website.

If you visit Rome Casino however, you'll see that the American Express logo is still listed on their payment methods page. Rome Casino hasn't commented on the issue (yet) so it does make us wonder what is going on and how this issue will play itself out.

Plenty Of Other Payment Methods
In the meantime, Rome Casino remains our top rated casino that accepts U.S. players. There are plenty of payment options available, just don't count on using American Express.
