$30 Million Lottery Scam
The party that the group of 40 people celebrated went through the roof, but the sharing of the money appeared to be more problematic. When the group was about to collect the $30 million lottery jackpot, it appeared that there was no money to divide as the seller of the tickets probably pulled of a nasty scam.
The 'Winning' Numbers
The shop owner that sold the lucky ticket had not registered the ticket at the national lottery organization. Therefore the winning numbers were not put in the draw, so the alleged win was invalid and no single dime of prize money will be disbursed.
Police Investigation
The shop, that is based in the southern city Novo Hamburgo, has been suspended by the governmental body that is in charge of the lottery. The local police department currently investigates the case and as the ticket was correctly paid for, there is ample reason to believe that a scam was committed.
