Just when you thought they were quietly fading into the background, the bombastic and belligerent Osbourne family - Ozzy, Sharon, Jack, Kelly and their dog Minnie - are returning to the spotlight.

Or, more accurately, to the flashing lights of a soon-to-be released Microgaming video slot machine.

The game - the product of an exclusive licensing agreement with the Osbournes - is a five-reel, 20 pay-line slot that will be released at the end of September.

It will be available to all 120 online casinos using Microgaming gambling software and, showing the Osbourne family's universal appeal, will also hit the screens in 19 different languages.

"This announcement, says Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, "isn't just about one of the biggest game launches of the year, but one of the biggest game launches since this industry started - from any software provider.

"To be launching a video slot featuring one of the most famous entertainment families in the world just shows how far into the entertainment industry we've come and long may it continue."

The matriarch of the Osbourne clan, Sharon, is equally impressed with the final result.

"The developers at Microgaming," she said in a release, "have done a fantastic job at bringing all our family to life within the game. And they've even managed to immortalize my beloved dog, Minnie! I'll certainly have a little flutter."

The game itself is packed with free spins, multiplier boosts and cash prizes. It also features an on-screen trail above the slots themselves, where the family dog Minnie gets in on the show.

Get three, four or five Minnie symbols across the reels and ten free spins are triggered. Minnie will then trot across the screen as free spins are achieved, moving across four levels - one each for Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly - with the goal of reaching Ozzy for the full reward.

"We set out to create a video slot," Raatgever adds, "that blends fantastic graphics and game play with striking new features and a touch of celebrity. And we believe we've achieved that.

"From the moment we announced this game was coming, we've had players from all over the world contacting our operators for the release date. Well, the wait is over. Enjoy!"

Osbourne family patriarch Ozzy, of course, entered the public consciousness as the lead singer of iconic metal band Black Sabbath in the early '70s. His family joined him in the celebrity realm in 2002 when a reality show following the family's home life began airing on MTV.
