A yet unidentified legal entity has paid $580,000 for the Danish domain name onlinecasino.dk. This domain name price is approximately 10% of that paid for the most expensive online gambling domain ever, bought by Bodog Antigua.

Online Casino Portal
The Danish online domain is currently serving as a top Nordic online casino portal and has over 3 million visitors a month. Online reports identify the new owner as a company based on Malta with plans to further develop the website as a casino information portal.

The recent legalization of online gambling in Denmark is probably one of the main reasons for the high selling price of the domain name.

Bodog - $5.8m for Slots.com
The sum of $580,000 might sound like a lot for a simple domain name, but earlier this year the Antigua-based Bodog coughed up ten times this amount for Slots.com. According to the gambling giant this is the largest amount ever paid for an online gambling related domain.
