TopGame Software Review
TopGame Software is a relative newcomer to the world of casino software providers, launched in 2008 when Rome Casino opened its online doors. Unlike some software providers such as Playtech and Microgaming, TopGame only serves a limited number of online casinos –- most of which it reportedly owns itself.
Casinos using TopGame software are part of a dwindling number that still accept US players, with Rome Casino the best known. Its software has had a bit of a checkered past, as in 2009 many abnormalities were reported in the TopGame slots offerings, with progressive jackpots disappearing and missing wild symbols in certain games.
TopGame claims that all issues have been resolved.
Layout and Structure
TopGame software only offers a downloadable client but the install process is very quick and completed in less than a minute on an average Internet connection.
Once you’ve registered and logged in you’ll find yourself in a standard casino lobby with various games featured in tabs such as “Jackpots”, “Roulette”, “”Blackjack”, and “Video Slots”.
The general approach is a no-frills one that quickly and simply lays out the game options. Navigating to each game is simply a matter of a few clicks, with most games taking around 10-15 seconds to load the first time but loading much faster on subsequent visits.
Game Graphics and Sound Effects
The graphics at TopGame won’t bowl you over but they get the job done, which is a fairly consistent theme throughout the software’s different features. Each game you access appears at the top of the screen as a tab, so much like with browser windows you can keep various games open and accessible or close them out to remove them.
All the standard options are available as far as graphics and gameplay, with options to decrease or increase game speed and to toggle the sound on and off, as well as to switch from male to female dealer voices (or turn them off altogether).
One nice feature is a very prominent tab on the right of every page to contact support, which is static and shows on every game page.
Most online casino software offers something similar but not as a static feature and one that must often be hunted around for first.
Variety of Games
One of the major drawbacks of the TopGame software is the lack of variety in the games.
While all the major offerings are there you won’t find much variety in each category, with just three different blackjack games offered and only four video poker varieties.
You’ll have a bit more variety when it comes to video slots, with more than 25 different games available including three different progressive jackpots.
You’ll find all the popular casino games at TopGame, just perhaps in not the same variety and quantity as you’re used to when playing on other software.
