Craziest Online Casino Promotional Stunts
When discussing weird promotional stunts, Golden Palace Casino always is in the front line. This casino has made quite a few unusual purchases over the years - everything to get the casino's name exposed in media. Never heard of these promotional stunts? Here are a few examples of Golden Palace's mad history:
Virgin Mary Grilled Sandwich
In 2004, a woman in Miami claimed she owned a 10-year old grilled-cheese sandwich that had a slight resemblance with the Virgin Mary. "This has to be worth some money," she thought, and put the item up on EBay. Although there was a bite taken out of the sandwich, Golden Palace gladly paid $28,000 for this piece of bread - quite an expressive sandwich to say the least.
$10k for a Golden Palace Tattoo
In 2005, Golden Palace bought the right to tattoo its web address in the middle of a woman's forehead. It all started with an EBay auction, which had over 1,000 people watching. The "winner" of this auction was the single mother Karolyne Smith, and she didn't only get a free tattoo, but also $10,000.
Golden Palace has also paid a man weighing 400 ponds $4,550 for tattooing the company's logo on his stomach.
A Child's Name up for Sale
In February 2005, Melissa Heuschkel from Conneticut, decided to put her child's name up for auction; also this on EBay. Guess who won the bidding! Three month later, Melissa gave birth to Golden Palace Benedetto.
The child is now called Goldie, and hopefully, has $15,500 in a collage fund.
Golden Palace has also bought the ball with which David Beckham's missed the penalty in EURO 2004 quarter final, paid $650,000 to name a newly discovered monkey species and bought a VW Golf, previously owned by pope Benidict XVI.
