Craps can seem like quite a confusing game and I am sure you have heard about the ridiculous house edge that Craps has. However, Craps also has some of the lowest house edge bets possible for its players.

The pass line, the don't pass line, the come bet and the don't come bet have a particularly low house edge. For this reason, these bets are highly recommended. It is said that if you only make one bet consistently on the Craps table, make it the "pass line" bet.

There is no betting system or strategy that will help decrease the house edge in Craps. They may, however, assist you with winning for a short time period. House odds are determined by the amount of money the house pays the players when they win in relation to the true odds for the bet. The betting systems that people use are because they are trying to use probability to go on a winning streak for awhile. And, while this may help short-term, it most likely will not work for them all night long. In addition, there are ideas on how your money can last longer at the Craps table - like doing CPR on the six, but again - this does not lower the house edge.

 

Cover Your Bets

Hedging, one type of betting system, is a term you may hear that people use to lower the house edge. However, all players are doing when they are hedging is making additional bets that will cover their first bets. This is not the most efficient way to get the house edge down and it also does not guarantee how much you will win or lose when you are playing. The greatest way to get the house edge down is to make pass line bets. I cannot stress this enough. Pass line bets are the best place for you to begin.

In addition to the pass line bet, after you have made this bet and a point is scored, you are allowed to make another bet. This bet is not written anywhere on the table and the stickman or stickwoman working the table most likely will not tell you about the best. The reason why you ask? There is not an ounce of house edge involved with it. It is called the odds bet. It means that you are betting that a point will be made before a seven is rolled by the shooter. The odds bet is the only bet in the casino with absolutely no house edge. Furthermore, the odds bet pays off in true odds, which most bets do not promise. Any time that you are able to make this bet, it is highly recommended that you do so. It is your best way to lower the house edge.
