Q2 Results
The online gambling and gaming giant furthermore has announced its results of the second quarter of 2008. Reported revenues are no less than £21 million, which is 75% more than what was generated in the same period last year, and is a 9% increase compared to the turnover of the previous quarter. Playtech now in total has outstanding shares, representing the value of the firm, being worth £1.2 billion.
Asian Market
In the first half of this year Playtech penetrated the Asian market with player-to-player games, a development that will be completed in the next few months. The Asian market now makes up for about one fifth of the total revenues, and with the Asia revenues increasing with 93% on a yearly basis this part of the pie is bound to increase even further.
Movie Madness
Just recently Playtech made another big investment by signing a four-year deal with Paramount Pictures for the exclusive rights of the movies the Untouchables and the Gladiator. Furthermore Playtech made rapid progress with its Flash poker network, and plans to bring the total newly signed licensees up to 10 over this whole year.

Mor Weizer comments on the success of his business strategy as follows, "This level of performance, particularly considering the impact of the Euro 2008 football tournament and traditional seasonality, is very impressive with licensees continuing to win relative market share. With organic growth and the launch of new licensees in Q3 and beyond we look forward to a strong quarter and the Board is highly confident of the prospects for the full year."
